Privacy and data (draft)
This is a draft. The items marked "to be decided" must be settled before Enterwebs opens to the public.
What is public
Posts and comments with their edit history (except text that was redacted), usernames and display names, community scope statements and rules, moderator and reviewer rosters, evidence notes and their history, and the redacted transparency ledger.
What is restricted
Report details, private case notes, appeal explanations and evidence, evidence-request notes, and the access log. Only the people handling a case can see these, and every time someone opens a case file it is logged.
What Enterwebs does not do
- Require your real name.
- Give members political labels or infer protected characteristics.
- Use agree or disagree reactions to rank, hide or sanction anything.
- Send your content to AI providers. There is no AI processing in this phase.
Redaction
Private information that has to be removed, such as a home address, is erased from the stored text rather than just hidden. The record that a redaction happened, who made it and under what authority, is kept.
Retention
- Report details: to be decided.
- Private case notes and appeal evidence: to be decided.
- Access logs: to be decided.
- Deactivated accounts: their posts stay unless removed, and the account is shown as deactivated.
